MICHAIL SCHÜTTE

Born in 1968 in Lübeck

1991–93  Carpentry apprenticeship in Wendland. Through working with old timberframes developed a special interest in traditional techniques for working wood with hand tools.

1994–95 Studied sculpture at the Werkkunstschule in Flensburg

1995–99 Travelled as a journeyman through Germany, Skandinavia and Great Britain. Worked with various craftsmen, artists and Museums.  Studied regional artefacts and hand tool working methods of Northern Europe.

1998 In England.  Worked with various green woodworkers including Mike Abbott, the author of "Green Woodwork“ and "Living Wood" and Hugh Roberts, Welsh-Stick-Chairmaker

Since 1999 Self employed as a sculptor and green wood designer near Lüneburg

Since 2000 Own teaching workshop for greenwoodwork
